History
In 2003, inventor, educator and math expert James Kent Murray, of Houston, Texas did more to help teachers, parents and children with beginning math than anyone in the History of working numbers!
Mr. Murray is the first person in the world, to simplify 2nd grade-up elementary math lessons to a point where teachers and parents are now able to easily and quickly teach:
1. Total Head-Addition in a single one hour or less lesson. Yes, you read correctly… Finger-free Addition, is learned in less than one hour. For an additional $30, we also offer a copyrighted classroom lesson plan… where students are able to learn to add faster in their head… than teachers are able to add on a calculator. Yes… this is a… first-of-its-kind lesson plan and it only takes three to six weeks for an entire normal-skilled class to complete!
Math Rules State: Math is to be taught using a Step-by-Step learning process. Subtraction is not to be discussed until students first learn Addition. That’s never been possible until now! Actually, with our exclusive lessons; Addition and Subtraction can be mastered within 1 to 2 hours!

All our lessons are designed to help everyone who is interested in learning the Murray´s Magic Math™ simplified version of beginning math. Our program was thankfully developed during our six-year research study in public schools… and with parents teaching their children at home. Our only caution is, we found that it takes the younger students (Pre-K, K, and first grade) a lot longer time to learn what 2nd grade-up students are able to accomplish in a very short period of time. Second graders, seem to be the earliest class of students that really understand and enjoy learning the art of solving math problems.
First grade students also need some extra time to learn what a carry-over number represents and how it applies to Addition. This lesson is important while preparing 1st grade students for some 2nd grade higher-level math. Usually, second and third grade students are well briefed on carry-over numbers, so they work much faster and achieve easier success.
Math lesson plans for elementary students, 2nd grade math, up to 5th grade math help, are the most fun to teach out of all the elementary grade levels. Often times 5th grade students who believe they are able to add really good in their head, are usually very slow in arriving at an answer. When they practice fun math games for kids arranged by Murray’s Magic Math™ lesson plans for 5th grade, well… lessons get faster answers, and they are all amazed beyond belief.
Teacher lesson planning, or lesson planning for teachers, and academic lesson plans of today’s standard for math, really need a face-lift and Murray’s Magic Math™ has proven, for over six years, to be just the ticket every child needs. Advance math help for algebra will only be needed if foundation math is not mastered. Algebra math problems work on the same basis as foundation math, but if you don’t have a strong elementary math background, X’s and Y’s won’t be the only thing that confuses students with Algebra.
If students have trouble with Algebra, I recommend going back to the beginning of basic-math and review foundation math to make certain everyone is knowledgable with that. Then look on the Internet for Algebra I, math help and Algebra II, math help, to bring students up to speed with those types of math. Google.com and Yahoo.com have plenty of beginning Algebra help. The concept of Algebra is what students should be looking for. Understanding numbers becomes easy when concepts are understood.
Classroom lesson plans and math lesson plans for teachers, involving Murray’s Magic Math™ simplifies all beginning, especially Head Addition, to a point where even resource students are able to learn and pass with ease.** Each individual is different, but we have found a nice number of resource students… able to perform the comprehension lesson plans we give them for Head Addition. **Certain restrictions apply.
Guided lesson plans, and interactive lesson plans showing the correct methods beginning maths should be taught… are the plans that should take over-all precedent, for each state’s current math curriculum. Murray’s Magic Math™ follows the same basis of today’s school approved curriculums, only we offer some much easier techniques for kids to work and remember.
Our lesson plans formats and lesson plan for teachers, parents and students; explains most of what students expect when learning beginning math. State approved curriculums, usually covers more material than what we cover, but when students ask math questions… we answer by stating we are teaching just the basics. I can’t for the life of me, understand why math administrators dropped the “Counting Change” aspect of math. I guess they assume that cash registers and register operators will never make mistakes.
